Without menstruation, there is no such thing as reproductive health. Yet, in most parts of the world, menstruation is not celebrated, but shamed. Young girls and young women of reproductive age are often kept out of school, or hidden away on days when they are having their periods. Worse, they have no access to hygienic options supporting the management of their monthly cycles and cannot go about their daily lives without worry or concern.
🇪🇹 DKT Ethiopia has been working to change this by supplying sanitation pads to more than 50,000 schoolgirls in rural parts of the country through the REACH project, in partnership with EngenderHealth, Amref Health Africa AMREF, and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ethiopia.
